Episode 244: Building Farm Management Excellence w/ Heather Watson

In this week’s episode, Tracy speaks to Heather Watson from Farm Management Canada about “Building Farm Management Excellence.”

In this episode, Tracy and Heather speak about:

  • Farm Management Canada's mission is to help create strong farm business leaders through its knowledge centre, events, and resources. Heather shares more about when and why their organization was founded. Hint: They spotted the need after the farm crisis of the 80’s.
  • Tracy asks her about what they are focused on as an organization right now and what concerns farmers have on their minds.
  • She shares more about their resource centre, which hosts information about their transition programs and events, farm financial fluency training and events, risk management programs and tools, and so much more.
  • Heather then shares more about their upcoming event in November. The 2024 Conference theme, Together Towards Tomorrow, speaks to the importance of leveraging our collective strengths and finding innovative ways to work together to position Canada’s farmers and ranchers for sustainable growth and prosperity for generations to come.

If you are looking to become the strong farm business leader possible, please check out Farm Management Canada and their list of resources and events below.

Thanks for tuning in,

Tracy
