Canada’s First Fully Accredited, Independently Owned Seed Testing Laboratory.

Since 1989, we have served customers locally and internationally, including the agriculture sector. Our head office is in Nisku, Alberta, and we also have a lab in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and operate seasonally in Chile.

20/20 Seed Labs Inc. is an award-winning, accredited world leader in seed quality testing and specialized research and development. Independently owned and operated, we are built on a vision to help Canadian and international agricultural players set a standard for innovation and productivity.

We test more than seed! Our award-winning molecular lab offers a wide range of testing, including disease, identification of pests, weeds and varietal purity for crops. We also have an expert team in the disease diagnostics lab to provide testing for plant tissue, soil, and seed. Our team also includes import and export services. Our team of crop inspectors has over 20 years of experience in western Canada supporting certified seed growers.

“There is a huge amount of trust in the work that we do,” says Sarah Foster, President, Founder and Senior Analyst.

More than agriculture, we also have services for municipalities, reclamation, flower and vegetable seed growers and more. We work with other labs, researchers and clients worldwide to meet their testing needs. Our greenhouse is used for R&D grow-out trials and supports our efforts to give back to the community through our local food banks.

Did you know our name, 20/20 Seed Labs, was selected because our seed analysts are accredited to complete analysis for all 20 seed grade tables? It also refers to the individual customer service we provide to help our customers in their operations in the present and future and not to let hindsight be 20/20. Our company motto, Never Stop Growing, is our daily motivation to continually grow in our accreditations and proficiencies and innovate as leaders.

20/20 Seed Labs testing and analysis follow protocols designated by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA), and the Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA). Our expert technical team of fully qualified seed analysts, plant pathologists, molecular biologists, and seed technicians adheres to Canadian methods and procedures as required by the CFIA.

20/20 Seed Labs Inc. has completed registration of its Quality Management system to satisfy ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025 standards. This includes adherence to strict international, federal, and provincial quality control standards used to test and grade all crops. It is registered for Crop Inspection Services for Regions R9 (BC/AB North), R8 (BC/AB South), R7 (SK), and R6 (MB).
